Backpack Hero is a strategy game that makes players manage their inventory to defeat enemies. It is a roguelike deck-building game at its core. However, the player’s effectiveness is not only based on the items they have but also on how they organize them in their backpack.

Backpack Hero has an overworld and dungeons to explore, with the combat taking place in the dungeons. The dungeon world is very large. Indeed, the developer claims it is endless. This place is also where the player will encounter enemies and find items that they can use to progress. The overworld gives the player an entirely different game mechanic to play with.
Upgrade a town
The player can use the resources they gather to upgrade their town in the overworld and rescue the animals who live there. Doing so will unlock new content for the player to experience. However, none of this new content gives the player an advantage in the dungeon areas.

The main feature of Backpack Heroe is the inventory management aspect of the game. The player must collect things like weapons to enable them to defeat enemies. The way that the weapons and other items are arranged in the player’s inventory will also make a difference in how effective they are.
